We provide a non-invasive Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) enabling fully paralyzed patients to communicate independently.

BirgerMind® was established with the objective to help Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) patients regain their ability to use e-mail, social networks, to generate speech out of text and call for help, to manage contacts and keep track on writings and notes, all by means of flexible ALS-friendly brain-reading headwear. BirgerMind’s hardware and software platform adapts to users’ brain signals by means of custom-tailored machine learning algorithms, and delivers a dedicated user interface, which is intuitive for patients with locked-in state.

The main focus is on ease of use and fast set-up.

Latvian national finals of EWC winners

BirgerMind® became the winner on the Latvian national finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) that took place on April 3rd, where five Latvian start-ups competed for the opportunity to get into the global finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to battle for a total prize pool of USD 1 million.

BirgerMind® is a promising finalist for the Latvian national competition for opportunity to join Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) in Saudi Arabia. The winner of the Latvian national finals will then compete for the chance to be among the top 100 companies from around the globe having a ticket to the global finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the prize pool of 1 million US dollars, as well as additional investment opportunities and support for global growth.

Grand finals of the EIT Health InnoStars Awards 2023

BirgerMind® team is honoured to be the only team from Latvia selected for the Grand finals of the EIT Health InnoStars Awards 2023 competition and included in the list of Top 10 companies among 107 EU SME competitors.

SKALE2CT Interreg Europe Project

In January and February, the BirgerMind team, together with representatives of the SKALE2CT project and the Ministry of Economy, went to France to participate in a study visit organized by project partners in Grenoble, where the main focus was on the development of medical technology start-ups.

Winners of EIT Jumpstarter 2021 in Health Category

BirgerMind® team is a proud winner of the first prize of the "EIT Jumpstarter 2021 in Health Category", a joint program by EIT Health, EIT RawMaterials EIT Food, EIT Innoenergy, EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Manufacturing. KICs are supported by the EIT, a body of the European Union.

Latvia's startup frontiers meet Italy

BirgerMind® attended TechChill Milano, the Baltic-born startup conference taking place in Milan, Italy on September 25-27. Participants are invited to meet the startups at the “Latvia’s startup frontiers meet Italy” side-event powered by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA).

EIT Health InnoStars Awards Bootcamp in Instituto Pedro Nunes

18 health startups, selected among 107 European competitors, participated in training, capacity building and mentoring sessions. Topics such as marketing, regulation, funding and intellectual property were addressed throughout the bootcamp.
