BirgerMind® project is inspired by a member of our team, Birger, who is suffering from ALS for more than 27 years, and we strive to help everyone in need. We are experienced hardware and software engineers who are actively developing dedicated ALS communication solutions.
BirgerMind® team participated in the prestigious EIT JumpStarter Competition 2021, where 548 teams from 32 countries tried their hand, but only 42 received a chance to pitch in front of the jury of experts and compete in the EIT Jumpstarter Grand Final. It is therefore our honour to announce that the BirgerMind® team won the first prize of the "EIT Jumpstarter – Health Category", a joint program by EIT Health, EIT RawMaterials, EIT Food, EIT Innoenergy, EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Manufacturing. KICs are supported by the EIT, a body of the European Union.

In 2021 our team BirgerMind® won the first prize at the EIT Jumpstarter Grand final!
We are honored to be supported by the The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), which is an independent body of the European Union. We are now part of the EIT Alumni and EIT Health Innovators creative community, where advanced know-how is shared, unique programmes are provided, and where expert trainers and mentors are always willing to help and provide guidance. With the contribution of best-in-class experts, creative community, unique know-how, EIT Jumpstarter's aim is to support idea-holders to turn their ideas into business. BirgerMind® team is grateful for this opportunity.
The strategic aim of this program is to create a sustainable impact in the Central-Eastern and Southern-European Regions by boosting innovation and entrepreneurship within this part of Europe. The program’s concept originates from the real needs of the innovation ecosystem of these regions. Countries face similar challenges; they have enormous innovation potential, with bright scientific minds, but the research results are likely to remain within the labs. At the same time, there is a significant number of needs that have been unmet from the corporate side. To overcome these challenges connecting the innovative solutions with the articulated demands from the industry and increase the competitiveness of our regions – six EIT Communities teamed up to jointly running EIT Jumpstarter. The competition is organized by EIT Health, EIT RawMaterials EIT Food, EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban Mobility. They are six Knowledge and Innovation Communities of EIT, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. They bring together businesses, research centres and universities as partners creating a favourable environment for creative thought and innovation to flourish. EIT is a valuable, credible partner to get our business idea up and running.
In 2019 EIT Jumpstarter won the Best Association Training Initiative Award of the European Association Awards.
